Joint Venture Project
Project Overview
Whim Creek Joint Venture Project
The Whim Creek Copper-Zinc Project is located 115 km to the south west of Port Hedland and includes the Whim Creek, Mons Cupri, Salt Creek and Evelyn deposits where 67,000 tonnes of copper was produced from historic (near surface) oxide ores.
The Whim Creek JV Project includes crushing and heap leach infrastructure, offices, workshops and established water supplies, along with a regional exploration package with gold and base metal prospectivity.
In 2020, the company executed an unincorporated Joint Venture with Anax Metals Limited (ASX: ANX) to acquire 80% interest in the Whim Creek Project via staged cash payments to VXR and additional earn-in expenditure. DEVELOP retains a 20% interest that is free-carried through to a decision to mine.
Whim Creek Greenstone Belt
The Whim Creek Project covers part of the Whim Creek and Mallina Greenstone Belts.
The company has identified four deposits: Whim Creek, Mons Cupri, Salt Creek and Evelyn with a combined metal endowment >90,000 Cu metal tonnes and >160,000 Zn metal tonnes.
The company has multiple, high quality exploration targets along the mineralised trend and is targeting additional Resources that will facilitate the development of a mining hub as a compliment to the company’s flagship Sulphur Springs project.
